A terrible accident occurred around 10 p.m. on Wednesday evening when two cars collided head-on on the A1 motorway.
The accident occurred near the town of Izel-lès-Équerchin, in the direction of Lille Paris, between interchanges 16.1 of Hénin-Beaumont (Ikea) and 16 of Fresnes-lès-Montauban.
For an as yet undetermined reason, a Renault Laguna with three young people on board ended up in the wrong direction on the highway.
She hit an Opel Corsa, driven by a woman in her sixties living in Belgium, who could not avoid the shock.
Vital prognosis committed for the adolescent
The images broadcast by the Voix du Nord testify to the violence of the shock.
The driver of the Opel died despite the intervention of the emergency services.
A man and a woman of around 25 years old in the front of the Renault also died.
The teenager born in 2007 in the back of the Laguna was taken to hospital in Lille after being extricated from the vehicle.
His vital prognosis is engaged.

The highway was closed for much of the evening.
An investigation has also been opened to find out the precise circumstances of this tragedy.
