This morning (Monday), the IDF, in cooperation with the National Cyber Network, conducted an extensive cyber incident simulating a phishing attack, in which a false statement was distributed about eligibility for a grant of NIS 500 for purchases in businesses throughout the country.
For example, permanent employees received a text message in a different wording with a link, which read: "Your salary conditions have changed as a result of the monthly salary cut. The monthly salary slip can be entered in the personal area on the IDF website."

Military personnel who clicked on the impersonating link were notified that this was an exercise to increase awareness of phishing messages with defensive recommendations and mark recognition - such as misspellings and poor wording and sending from unknown names.
Also, as a result of sending the message, reservists contacted a service center for reservists to clarify the meaning of the message, where they were explained that it was an exercise.
