The start-up company Intuition Robotics from Ramat Gan, which has developed a social robot for the elderly, has signed an agreement with the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA), which will purchase 800 units of the ElliQ robot, as part of its comprehensive program Deal with the social isolation of adults and support them in their homes.
The firm will partner with local offices to identify adults who can benefit from the first-of-its-kind technology, which offers adults a friendly and proactive companion.

The technology, recently launched for commercial marketing after years of piloting and initial installations, has achieved unprecedented rates of involvement among the elderly and recorded an average of 20 daily interactions.
Unlike other technologies, ElliQ is specifically designed for seniors, to increase their independence at home.
While other technologies are only capable of responding to commands, ElliQ itself offers various activities and initiates calls.
Through artificial intelligence he builds relationships and initiates follow-up conversations, which create a sense of a developing relationship with him.
To improve the elderly's health and well-being, the robot initiates relaxation exercises, physical training exercises, in-depth conversations about nutrition, reminders for taking medications adapted to the elderly's condition and more.
