The drugs were discovered by a walker who immediately alerted the police, according to the assistant prosecutor of Boulogne-sur-mer, who knows

A stunning discovery.

Several cocaine loaves, for a total weight of around 21 kilos, were discovered this Thursday morning on the beach of Berck (Pas-de-Calais), near Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, according to the prosecution.

"They were discovered by a walker" who immediately alerted the police, said the deputy prosecutor of Boulogne-sur-mer, Patrick Leleu, confirming information from the daily La Voix du Nord.

"The most likely hypothesis is that they would come from a boat, rather from the open sea than from land", explained Patrick Leleu at the time, while the prosecution seized the judicial police for the investigation.

The deputy prosecutor clarified to La Voix du Nord "that a priori, it came from the sea, but it will now be up to the investigation to determine it".

A dozen cocaine breads already found in September

In September, a dozen cocaine loaves were found on several beaches in Pas-de-Calais, between Ambleteuse and Cap Gris-Nez, above Boulogne-sur-Mer.

"The most likely hypothesis is that they would come from a boat, rather from the open sea than from the land", explained Patrick Leleu at the time.

From November 2019, a large number of bales of cocaine had also been found on the Atlantic coast, for an estimated total of 1,600 kilos.

The drugs came from Colombia.

In May 2021, more than 750 kilos of cocaine were found on a beach in Saint-Germain-sur-Ay (Manche), on the west coast of Cotentin.
