The Cannes Film Festival came to an end today with the award ceremony of the official competition.

The Golden Palm, the most important award at the festival and one of the most important in the world of cinema, was awarded to the Swede Ruben Ostland for his film "The Triangle of Sadness".

This is the second time the filmmaker has won the award, after picking it up five years ago in "The Square".

In doing so he joins an exclusive club of directors who have completed double wins.

Another Swedish film, "Boy From Heaven", won the screenplay award.

Its creator, Tariq Salah, works in Sweden, but he is an Egyptian exile, and the film takes place in Egypt and describes how corrupt she is.

Saleh is involved in power struggles between government officials and clerics in the country, and for this purpose is assisted by three actors from Israel - Makram Khoury, a senior cleric, Muhammad Bakri, a senior general, and Tawfiq Barhum, the young man who finds himself trapped between them.

This year, there was no full-length Israeli film at the festival.

On the other hand, within the prestigious side, "A Particular Look," one could find "Mediterranean Fever," a Haifa-based film by Ha Haj, which was shot in Haifa and takes place there.

It was made without Israeli funding and also without the involvement of Israeli producers, and officially defines itself as a "Palestinian film."

Either way, at the awards ceremony of this side frame, which took place on Friday night, the film won the screenplay award.

At the film's premiere earlier this week, Hajj dedicated the screening to the memory of Sheerin Abu Akala, who was "murdered while covering another injustice of the occupation."

In the winning speech she refrained from such statements and took advantage of the short time available to her to thank the staff who worked with her.
