The mayor of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), Christian Estrosi, announces that a woman was killed this Wednesday morning by her companion.
According to information from Nice Matin, the victim is a 35-year-old Russian and the perpetrator a 52-year-old man, also of Russian nationality.
It was the couple's 9-year-old child who reportedly called the emergency services.
The victim received several stab wounds.
“Intra-family violence, a real scourge”
When they arrived, the young woman could not be revived.
According to actu.fr, the perpetrator was injured in the calf, without it being known under what circumstances.
He was taken into custody by the criminal department of the departmental security.

“I want to express my pain and my emotion following a feminicide this morning in Nice (…) Domestic violence, a real scourge, must continue to be a priority in terms of security to better prevent these tragedies, better protect victims and strengthen sanctions, ”wrote the mayor of Nice on Twitter.
