3 / 13Technically, the Mercedes-AMG One is closely related to the Formula 1 cars.
This became a problem with road approval and contributed significantly to the delay in series production.

Stuttgart – It's now almost become a cherished tradition that prestige projects in Germany always take a little longer than planned.
Well-known examples of lengthy construction projects are Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, the Stuttgart 21 train station project and Cologne Cathedral, which is still being worked on to this day.
But even with cars, it sometimes takes longer than planned, as the Mercedes-AMG One has shown.
Actually, the hypercar should be delivered to the 275 selected buyers from 2019.
But it was only three years later that the Mercedes-AMG One met all the requirements to be allowed on the road.
The reason: In Affalterbach, the effort required to make the drive train of the Formula 1 racing car suitable for everyday use was underestimated.
Good things take time.
