Inès, who was in the back of the vehicle on which the police fired on Saturday for refusing to comply, gave her version of the facts. Summer

The testimony is strong and partly contradicts what the police say.

Last Saturday morning, three police officers fired on a car that refused to comply, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, fatally injuring the passenger and seriously hitting the driver.

According to the version of the police, four officials on bicycles asked a vehicle to stop because the driver was not wearing his seatbelt.

Refusing to submit to the control, he would have fled but very quickly found himself stuck in traffic.

Again surrounded by the police summoning him to get out, he would have pretended to cut the engine before restarting abruptly.

According to the police, he then hit one of the officers and that's when his colleagues fired.

Paris: two seriously injured by bullets during a police check in the 18th arrondissement

On France info, this Wednesday morning, Inès, who was in the back of the vehicle, wanted to give her version of the facts.

And it is different in one crucial respect.

According to her, as soon as they found themselves stuck in traffic after the first refusal to stop, “everything went very quickly”.

Two police officers placed themselves “at the level of the windows in front of us.

(…) I didn't even hear

get out of the car

or

hands

up .

They broke the windows banging with their weapons,” she told the radio.

A contradiction on the context of the shootings

According to this 21-year-old woman, a friend of Rayana who died, “the driver didn't even have time to take his hands off the wheel.

We heard gunshots, the car driving off.

The shots and the car leaving, it happens at the same time, ”she insisted.

🔴 TESTIMONY.

"We heard gunshots, the car leaving. All of this happened at the same time", says Inès, survivor passenger, friend of Rayana, who died.

“They left us for more than 3 hours in full sun in front of the crowd.

We were not allowed to see a doctor.”

She explained that the driver had then effectively “brought forward and drove into a white van, which stopped him”.

Inès asked him to get out of the car, which he did.

It was then that she noticed that her friend, sitting in the front passenger seat, was unconscious.

"I didn't even have time to really realize and take her in my arms.

The police came behind us.

They pointed at us saying

hands in the air, hands on the head

 , ”she detailed.

"They didn't ask us if we were okay, they handcuffed us and left us there, without seeing a doctor," Inès continued, adding that she did not know the driver directly, who was a friend of friends. , met in the evening.

For her, the police “could have done something else.

The driver was at fault, but they could have done otherwise.

It was clogged, he couldn't have gone any further anyway.

(…) If we put a bullet in the head to all the people who refuse to comply, I think we would kill a lot of people every year, ”she concluded on France Info.

The version of the police would be "in line with the videos"

For his part, the lawyer for the three police officers, Maître Laurent-Franck Liénard, once again put forward the official version, contradicting that of Inès.

“Obviously, the two women are victims of the driver who made his decision.

But I do not join her on her version of the facts, ”he started, still on France info.

"What I heard is not consistent with the objective elements of the file", he assured, adding that the points of disagreement would be discussed "before an examining magistrate".

Maître Liénard nevertheless affirmed that the videos of the scene "confirm the thesis" of the police.

Moreover, in his eyes, "if they came out free from police custody, it is because at the investigation stage, their statements are consistent with the videos, in which we hear the injunctions and summonses".

Even if they emerged free, this Tuesday, a judicial investigation was opened against the police for violence having caused death without intention.
