Hymer ML-T 570: This is how the comfortable motorhome drives

The Hymer ML-T 570 offers plenty of luxury for camping fans.
Thanks to the all-wheel drive, the motorhome clearly stands out from the competition.
He stands out among the
mobile homes
on the campsite.
Hardly anyone is so long-legged, hardly anyone has a
4x4 drive
.
The
Hymer ML-T
stands out from the mass of semi-integrated vehicles.
The striking all-terrain tires and the large ground clearance of the all-wheel drive catch the eye.
Three models of the ML-T series - 560, 570 and 580
- can be optionally combined with all-wheel drive.
There is also the top model Cross-Over with a standard 4x4.
We tested the middle variant ML-T 570.
Hymer ML-T 570: A motorhome with a lot of comfort
The first impression: the car is high.

The vehicle is based on the Mercedes Sprinter, the 163 hp diesel also comes from the Stuttgart company, which is why the Swabian logo is pilloried on the front and back.
To
get into the driver's cab
, you have to climb up high, so you have to pull yourself up a bit.
You sit higher behind the wheel than some bus drivers.
A little truck feeling comes up.
The steering has quite a lot of play and
the manual six-speed gearbox
has quite a long shift travel.
Of course, the ML-T 570
4x4 does not roll
quite as smoothly and smoothly on the freeway as lowered colleagues without studded tires.
It's also a little louder indoors, so the radio needs to be turned up more.
And of course the
almost three meter high ML-T 570
is also more susceptible to wind.
But thanks to the sovereign and comfortable suspension, it can also be properly traveled on the highway - most comfortably at 100 km/h. We came up in our test
Consumption values
between eleven and 15 liters per 100 kilometers - when mainly driving on the motorway.
The four-cylinder diesel gets along surprisingly well with the 2.86-tonner.
You only have to downshift when going uphill.

The layout of the interior is classic: behind the swiveling front seats there is a table with a bench, next to the entrance door on the other side is the kitchenette with a three-burner gas grill, a sink and three large drawers.
The large compressor fridge (142 litres), which works practically silently, is excellent.
The
bathroom with toilet and sink
can be transformed into a spacious
shower
by moving the wall with the sink over the toilet.
The furniture is kept in walnut wood style as standard.
There are cupboards

In the roof, four large window hatches (one in the bathroom) provide plenty of light and ventilation.
There are five 12-volt and nine 230-volt sockets (which of course only work when the vehicle is connected to shore power), as well as four USB ports.
A reinforced 95 Ah lead battery provides its own power.
The 6 kW diesel heater provides warmth in the living area.
The headroom there is 1.98 meters.
Everything is perfectly processed, nothing rattles when driving.
The
fresh water tank
holds 120 liters, the waste water volume is 100 liters.
The payload is around 600 liters.
The
two longitudinal single beds in the rear
, on the other hand, are not for tall people.
The longer bed measures 1.89 meters, the shorter 1.79 meters.
Both are 80 centimeters wide.
A large lying surface can also be achieved with a middle part.
It is quite hard, there is no slatted frame.
It still sleeps well, also because of the excellent noise and heat insulation of the vehicle.
Otherwise, living in the ML-T 570 is absolutely comfortable
