An ingenious trick ensures that the steering wheel in your car does not heat up too much despite direct sunlight.
In summer, the beautiful weather lures many people outdoors.
If you have a car, you can spontaneously drive to the nearest swimming pool to cool off or to the mountains for a little hike.
But it is not always possible to find a parking space that casts a shadow on your vehicle.
Sometimes leaving your car in the sun for hours is unavoidable.
After such a long time at high temperatures, the interior is almost like a sauna.
It is therefore advisable to open the doors and ventilate a little first.
However, after several hours of direct sunlight exposure, the steering wheel is still far too hot to touch, let alone drive.
So what to do?
There is a simple trick to avoid hot steering wheels in summer.
There are many tips on the Internet for dealing with hot steering wheels.
For example, some motorists recommend simply laying a towel on the steering wheel.
However, this is not optimal and not safe because you will not have a firm grip.
If you have to react quickly, you could slip.
But there's also a much easier way:
just turn the steering wheel 180 degrees when parking upside down
.
While this doesn't eliminate the sun's rays, it doesn't land directly on the part of the steering wheel that you keep your hands on while driving.
