Since 1999, when it replaced the Felicia in the manufacturer's model line and for 4 generations, the Fabia has been one of Skoda's main anchors when it comes to its offering.

Not only in terms of sales numbers, but also because she was always the one who represented the Skoda approach to the story of value for money.

Not the most fashionable, not the most piece, without too much of a sporty aura - but in the value-for-money section, it did not have much competition.

Its fourth generation, which arrives in Israel about a year after its world show, will try to continue to offer the same approach, especially with an increase in the car's exterior dimensions, more advanced safety equipment that comes as standard but this time the price is no longer as low as some competitors.

On the other hand, remember the story of the sports aura?

So here too there is an interesting twist in the story.

The design of the current generation aligns with the look of the rest of the manufacturer's models, more angular, with the hexagonal grille and socket in the center of the hood.

Although it is the latest of the Volkswagen Group's super mini cars to move to the MQB A0 platform, it does stretch the exterior body to a more generous length of 410.5 cm, more than its platform sisters (Seat Ibiza and Volkswagen Polo) and more than most of its competitors in the segment. M laterally it is also 5 cm wider than the outgoing generation and its wheelbase has grown by no less than 9.5 cm and stands at 256.5 cm, the trunk 343 liters.

Fabia will be marketed in Israel with two engines, both known from the group's models.

The first will be the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder turbo and the second 1.5-liter four-cylinder, also supercharged turbo.

In terms of power and performance, the 1.0-liter engine has 110 hp and 20.4 kg, together with a dual-clutch gearbox it will accelerate the Fabia to 100 km / h in 9.9 seconds to a top speed of 205 km / h.

The 1.5-liter engine we've already encountered in the Seat Ibiza FR, among other things, delivers 150 hp and 25.5 kg, also here with a dual-clutch gearbox.

Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 8 seconds and top speed is 225 km / h.

While the first two trim levels will be marketed with the 1.0-liter or 1.5-liter engines, the Monte Carlo will be available with the 1.5-liter engine only.

The Ambition finish level includes keyless propulsion, split climate control and air conditioning port for the rear seats, an 8-inch multimedia system with Android and Apple connectivity, 5 USB sockets including one near the center mirror and more.

Safety systems include automatic braking and distance warning, lane departure correction, adaptive cruise control, parking sensors, automatic braking even when reversing and more.

The list of safety accessories also includes front and rear parking sensors, LED lighting, rear camera and more.
