The athlete Yohann Diniz, world walking champion in 2017, was sentenced this Wednesday in Reims (Marne) to a two-month suspended prison sentence for traffic offenses and insults, as part of an appearance on prior recognition of guilt ( CRPC).
The 44-year-old sportsman, who appeared before the Reims judicial court (Marne), was prosecuted for "driving under the influence of an alcoholic state", "contempt of a person holding public authority", "conduct of 'a motor vehicle during the retention of the driver's license' and 'putting a vehicle into circulation despite the immobilization prescribed by a reporting agent'.
On October 22, while traveling between Reims and Épernay, Yohann Diniz was subjected to a blood alcohol test in Champfleury which turned out to be positive, with a rate greater than 0.80 g per liter of blood.

Then brought to the gendarmerie brigade of Taissy, he is accused of having insulted three gendarmes.
The contempt was “particularly contemptuous”, noted the judge.
Authorized to leave the gendarmerie the next day, the athlete had resumed driving, despite the obligation to immobilize his vehicle and the retention of his driving license.
