A policeman, summoned to the General Inspectorate of the National Police on Friday, committed suicide in the morning on a construction site in Paris with his service weapon, we learned from a police source, confirming information from Europe 1 .
The official, 28 years old and stationed at the anti-crime brigade of the XIIIth arrondissement, was off duty when he came around 10:00 a.m. "to pick up his weapon at the police station", according to this source.
The man, father of a one-year-old child, then sent messages to several colleagues suggesting his intention to end his life before cutting off his phone.
Despite an emergency call launched on the airwaves, the policeman was found seriously injured by a bullet in the head on a construction site in the 13th arrondissement, on the edge of the ring road.
Help arrived but his death was quickly declared, on the spot, shortly before 11:00 a.m.
He was to be heard in the morning at the IGPN as part of a judicial investigation, said the police source, without specifying the reason for his summons.
An investigation was opened to find the causes of death and entrusted to the 3rd district of the Parisian judicial police.
This is the 32nd suicide in the national police since January 1.
