Actor Rami Weiberger will play the character of Moni Fanan, the late manager of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team that ended his life about 13 years ago, in a new TV movie.

The film - written by Gidi Maron and directed by Emanuel Nakash - will be broadcast on Keshet 12. These days, other actors are being cast by the band Amira Buzaglo.

The film is produced by Slutsky Communications.

Moni Fanan was the manager of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball team from 1992-2008.

After his death in 2009, it was revealed that he ran an underground bank whose customers were Israeli and foreign basketball players, as well as many other customers.

It is estimated that the "investment fund" managed by Fanan rolled in tens of millions of dollars, and as a result, Fanan fell into heavy debt.

In 2011, Fanan's widow from Maccabi Tel Aviv demanded NIS 2.5 million in wages for the seven years prior to the filing of the lawsuit. In 2015, the Tel Aviv Regional Labor Court rejected the lawsuit and ruled that there was no employee-employer relationship between Fanan and the club. Was similar in this respect to the rest of the management,

filming will begin next month.
