First publication: Noa Kirl was chosen today (Monday) to represent Israel at the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest.
It has not yet been announced how the song selection process will be conducted.
The committee is made up of ten members, and included a representative of the corporation alongside factors in the music industry.
Representatives here on the committee are the director of the music stations at the Ofri Gopher Corporation, who chaired the committee;
Chief Producer at the Kobe Nussbaum Corporation;
Musical editor Tal Aegerman, director of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest Tali Katz;
Director of Culture here 11 Sharon Drix.
The external representatives are the songwriter Yossi Gispen, the musician Eden Darso, the broadcasters Avia Farhi and Leon Feldman, and the chief director of Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Yuval Cohen.
A statement issued last month said the committee would consider in advance experienced artists, "prominent, experienced in live performances and leading on the playlist," after in recent years these were often unrecognized singers at the beginning of their careers, selected by one of the TV music competitions.
Indeed, the committee decided to discuss 78 singers, singers and ensembles, who were on the list of artists played on national radio stations, or who were nominated for the title of singer / singer / ensemble this year in the last three annual parades.
Among the names that meet these conditions are Idan Habib, Hanan Ben Ari, Static and Ben El, Ran Danker, Raviv Kinner, Eden Ben Zaken, Omer Adam, Banya Barbie, Yishai Ribo and Eden Hasson.
These will initially be reduced to about 20 candidates, from which the representative will be elected.
If the chosen artist refuses the offer, his followers will be contacted according to the ranking of the committee members.

This year, Israel was represented by Michael Ben-David, who failed to qualify for the semifinals - Israel's first time since 2014. The
next Eurovision was scheduled to take place in Ukraine, after its representative for the competition, the band Kalush Oxtra, won the last competition held in Italy.
However, due to the Russian invasion and the ongoing war in the country, the European Broadcasting Union has come to the conclusion that it will not be possible to hold the competition there, and it will probably be Britain that will host it.
