Drama in the XIIIth arrondissement of Paris.

A 49-year-old man lost his life on Friday after an assault in the street in the Poterne-des-Peupliers sector.

A group of individuals would have attacked him around one o'clock in the morning from Thursday to Friday to steal his bag, indicates a police source to Parisian, confirming information from Actu17.

Seriously injured, especially in the head, the man was hospitalized but his vital prognosis was not engaged.

The latter, however, succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

The crime squad has taken over the investigation.

According to our information, one of the perpetrators of the attack was arrested and placed in police custody.

Attacks are on the rise in the capital

In recent weeks, the capital has been the scene of sometimes violent attacks.

Thus in mid-June, a man was left between life and death after an ax attack in the 20th arrondissement.

A few days earlier, another individual was stabbed to death in a bar on rue Mouffetard (Ve).

On June 10, a dozen young people were arrested after assaulting and robbing tourists at the Trocadéro, near the Eiffel Tower.

These recent events are also fueling a certain concern among the tens of thousands of people who visit Paris every day.

“We are wary of everyone,” one of them recently confided to Le Parisien, as part of an investigation published on July 24 in our columns.

Pickpockets, pick-pocketing, scams… many traps are once again awaiting tourists in Paris, who have returned after two years of the Covid crisis, just like the crime that intends to take advantage of them.
