Prepare your pocket: the next iPhone is expected to be more expensive

If recent reports are to be believed, supply issues may force Apple to raise the price of the iPhone 14 series by about 15 percent, making the devices the most expensive ever

When Apple unveils the iPhone 14 series this month, it will not only offer a new design (probably) and upgrades to the screen and camera.

The average price to the consumer (ASP) will also be more expensive: about 15 percent in total.

The senior analyst Ming-Chi Ko published the words on his Twitter account, and according to him the reason for this is the production cost of the Pro models due to the lack of components.

For comparison, the base iPhone 13 model currently sells for a starting price of $799, while the Pro and Pro Max models sell for $999 and $1,099.

So, in fact, the starting price of the following models could increase by about 100-150 dollars in total - making them the most expensive ever.

Last June, Daniel Ives, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, told The Sun in an interview that he expects the iPhone 14 series to rise in price by about $100 due to the disruptions in supply chains around the world.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian leaker Lanzuk claims that Apple only increased the price of the iPhone 14 Pro models, not the base models.

According to the latest reports, the date has already been closed and the announcement event is expected to take place on September 13.

What is known about the new devices?

The company may create some separation within the series: the same notchless design will be exclusive to the Pro models, while the cheaper models will have to spend another year with a notch.

In addition, according to the rumors, the iPhone 14 models will arrive for the first time with a 48-megapixel camera.
