The singer and actress Miri Masika has been chosen to play one of the main roles in the musical "Visit of the Orchestra" which will be performed at the Donmar Warehouse Theater in London.
"The Orchestra's Visit" will first be performed there and later it is expected to move to the West End.
Mesika was chosen for the role of Dina (played by Ronit Alkabats in the movie - VT) after hundreds of auditions held in Europe, the USA and Israel.
The aforementioned musical is based on the Israeli film of the same name from 2007, which was directed by Eran Kolirin and won 8 Ophir awards.
The film was adapted into a musical that was performed on Broadway in New York, where it won ten Tony Awards and a Grammy Award for the soundtrack.
Miri began her career as an actress in the play "King Shlomo and Shlomo the Shoemaker" at the same time as her breakthrough as a singer.
Among other things, she also played in the plays "The Wretched of Life", "The Melody Comes Again", the movie "Three Mothers" and more.
A message concludes:
It is a great honor for me and I am full of excitement to participate in the musical and to be part of this historic and respected theater.
Theater is a great love of mine and for me it is a dream come true."
In the meantime, this morning Mesika releases the song "Distance of Time" which she wrote and composed for her good friend Keren Pels.
Many years have passed since the last song they collaborated on.
This song belongs to Peles' "Transparent 2" project where she hosts various artists.
