Women who come home alone from evenings in the Paris region are vulnerable prey.
Two men were arrested early Sunday morning in Paris.
They are suspected of having abused a woman they had loaded into their car a few minutes earlier.
Around 5:20 a.m. rue Simon Le Franc (IIIe), the victim calls the police to denounce his attackers.
When the officials arrived on the scene, this woman explained that she had been verbally threatened by the VTC driver she had called and forced to perform oral sex on him in the presence of the second suspect.
At 5:43 a.m. on rue du Temple, the car was spotted and stopped by the police.
Its two occupants were arrested and placed in police custody in the premises of the first judicial police district of Paris.
Second similar case in Levallois-Perret (Hauts-de-Seine) this same Sunday around 10:30 a.m., officials went to the home of a woman who claimed that she was raped by an “Uber” driver.
His memories are vague.
She says that she returned home around 5 am using the services of this application.
She woke up at 9 a.m. at home to find her driver raping her.
"When the investigators arrived the suspect had left the scene," said a source close to the case.
The victim was taken to hospital for a medical examination.
The investigators of the Hauts de Seine departmental judicial police service are in charge of the investigations.
Other drivers will appear before the assizes
This is not the first time that VTC drivers have been suspected of having abused women they drive home after often alcoholic evenings.
A 40-year-old Uber driver is due to appear for rape from September 19 to 23 before the Hauts-de-Seine Assize Court.
This ex-robber is suspected of having, on February 29, 2020, raped his client in La Garenne-Colombes during a race.
Another 32-year-old clandestine VTC was returned in early May to the Assize Court of Hauts-de-Seine for two rapes, committed in 2020 in Asnières-sur-Seine and in another town of Île- de-France, on two clients who got into his car.
The man had been indicted on October 21, 2020 in Nanterre in the company of an accomplice.
