One person was killed and another injured in the head in Vénissieux, near Lyon, after a refusal to comply, according to information from BFMTV, confirmed by the police to AFP.
The police tried to control a vehicle during the night from Thursday to Friday, after a report of theft.
But the driver refused to stop and drove towards the officers, hitting one, according to the police.
The police then fired at the vehicle.
The passenger died and the driver was hit in the head.
