A 49-year-old man was arrested overnight from Monday to Tuesday in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.
He is suspected of having beaten and raped a 19-year-old woman who was leaving a bar with him.
Around 2:50 am, rue de la Vistule, the police are called because a witness has just picked up a naked and disoriented woman who is walking on the sidewalk.
“She explains that she spent the evening with a man in a bar in the rue de Tolbiac”, relates a source close to the case.
After the party, this man allegedly forced the victim into his van before hitting and abusing her.
The shocked victim was taken to the forensic unit for examination.
Suspect known for sexual assault
Thanks to the description of the vehicle, the officials found the van, parked on avenue de Choisy.
The alleged rapist, who was inside, was arrested before being placed in police custody in the premises of the third district of the judicial police of Paris.
“This man is very unfavorably known to the police, particularly for acts of sexual assault,” adds another source.
