He is the one who made it possible to lift the unbearable family closed door.

Bryan, 21, found the courage to "file a complaint against his own parents" now suspected of violence and educational deficiencies, after the discovery by the police on Tuesday of two of their ten children tied to high chairs, in a situation "deplorable hygiene" in Noyelles-sous-Lens (Pas-de-Calais).

“We used to pay them,” he told TF1 cameras.

"For every child left, a newborn arrived," he insists, explaining that his father only worked six months in his life thanks to the money from social assistance, and that his mother did not work.

The young man filed a complaint on August 30 against his parents, a 44-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman, who are suspected by the courts of "subtraction by ascendant from legal obligations" and "violence of a 15-year-old minor by ascending”, without ITT (total incapacity for work).

"Blows with sticks, blows with safety shoes, whippings"

"What is reproached is above all the total lack of hygiene, and serious educational deficiencies", or "the fact of not having taken care of his children in a normal way", specified the prosecutor.

The children, however, show "no signs of serious abuse that would have caused scarring", he added.

The family has a total of ten children aged 4 months to 24 years, including seven minors, and "the facts are alleged on all the minors and one of the adults", potential facts on the two eldest being prescribed.

According to Bryan, the children received “beatings with sticks, beatings with safety shoes, whippings”.

"One day, they will call me and tell me that my six-year-old brother is dead as a result of a blow," he feared.

He also regrets the inaction of social services, which would have received a first report on the family in 2013.

Because each time, the family was warned of the visits, he says.

It is on this point that he particularly insisted with the social worker whom he had contacted at the end of August, after a real beating of his 16-year-old younger brother by his father, one of his sisters, and his brother in law.

“I explained to them that you don't have to warn when you come,” says Bryan.

“Each time, [my parents] bamboozle the brains of the little ones to make them say that they are not being subjected to violence”.

The seven minors were the subject of a temporary placement order.

Placed in police custody on August 31, the parents were brought before a judge and placed under judicial supervision, with a ban on contact with their children, and obligations of care.

They will be tried on January 24.
