That day, he was at the Stade de France, in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), and was seriously injured by the explosion of the charge of one of the suicide bombers.
He is also an activist who ran for mayor of Cergy (Val-d'Oise) after having worked with previous socialist mayors.
