After years of inactivity, the car brand OSCA is making a comeback.

The brand, for automotive development, was in fact sold to Massimo Di Risio by Alfieri Maserati, who passed away last January.

The announcement is made by the daughter of Alfieri Maserati, Fabia, who today owns the rights to OSCA Jeweles, with which she has just launched a line of watches.

OSCA has its roots in the early days of motoring, between 1800 and 1900, when Carlo Maserati designed and built his own motor for motorcycles.

Carlo died young but in 1914 Alfieri founded the 'Officine Alfieri Maserati' in Bologna which soon became the car manufacturer capable of victories in all sports competitions.

The Maserati brothers, Bindo, Ernesto and Ettore, who had followed up on the activity started by Alfieri, after having sold their factory and the Maserati brand to the Modenese Orsi family in 1937, as the Second World War approached. to remain in the technical direction for ten years, they founded in 1947 in Bologna OSCA, Officine Specializzate Costruzioni Automobili - Fratelli Maserati.

OSCA was grafted onto a long tradition of design skills, knowledge, technical and sporting experiences, as well as entrepreneurship.

Until the early 1960s, the Maserati brothers were among the major players in world motor sport and their small-displacement OSCAs established themselves all over the world.

"Although over the years it has been contested by several car manufacturers and other interlocutors wishing to acquire the brand - explained Fabia Maserati - my father's choice was a precise choice, aimed at reviving one of the most glorious brands in motorsport. , who has contributed enormously to the development of automotive technology. Massimo Di Risio was a winning driver, even before becoming a successful automotive entrepreneur. In Di Risio I see the same passion and tenacity that animated the Maseratis. For OSCA will develop an industrial plan that can bring the brand back to life. "
