Since Peugeot joined the party in 2013 with the Metropolis, the three-wheeled scooter market in the world is constantly booming, with its most prominent representatives being the Peugeot MP3 and Yamaha Tricity.

Their buyers greatly benefit from the important addition to safety in the form of a pair of front wheels, which improve stability in all riding conditions (especially in the wet), the grip in braking, in the city and outside.

Each of the manufacturers has one or another technological solution for installing the pair of wheels in front, but apart from advantages here and there, the benefits are the same.

Add to that the fact that in many cases it is a "tie-breaker" argument against the spouse who opposes two-wheelers.

The safety of the three-wheel configuration is usually a compromise that both sides live with, literally.

As mentioned, Peugeot's representative in this market is the Metropolis, which was also marketed in Israel, and now the importer DLB Motosport is launching the new update for this three-wheeled vehicle.

The renewed Metropolis 400 has gone through a long series of design touches that bring it even closer to Peugeot's vehicle models, such as the popular 2008 and 3008, with LED headlights with a unique light signature and at the back, in the form of the familiar lion's claws.

In addition to this, the Metropolis received a new interface to connect the digital display screen and the smartphone, for example to project the navigation instructions on the screen and more.

Also, the suspensions were recalibrated to improve riding comfort (adjustable front and rear suspensions) and the seat was also reupholstered.

One of the reasons why the design of the Metropolis corresponds with the design of the cars lies in the fact that in Europe a motorcycle license is not required for three-wheeled vehicles (obliged to use a foot brake) and the Metropolis is supposed to be "like an additional car" in the family, for trips, work and getting through traffic without giving up the comfort and safety of a car but still having fun One of the advantages of a scooter.

Besides the pair of wheels at the front, safety is overseen by multi-position traction control and an integrated braking system with two discs at the front and a single disc at the rear.

The Metropolis 400 is equipped with a liquid-cooled single engine with a volume of 400 cc that produces 35.6 hp and 3.9 kg and both are available at a relatively low rpm, which ensures agility in movement as well as excellent fuel consumption.

The manufacturer states that with a 13-liter fuel tank, the Metropolis is able to cover 300 kilometers between refuelings.

The Metropolis 400 will be marketed in Israel in two versions - GT with a sporty appearance and SW with a more touristic nature.

The rider's environment in the SW version is very reminiscent of the...Goldwing.

Yes, the luxurious seat, the padded backrest, the built-in boxes that open at the push of a button, etc. give not only the feeling but also the appearance of a luxurious touring sports motorcycle.

Both versions offer a volume of 22 liters under the seat (also suitable for a full helmet and additional equipment) with the ability to carry equipment 90 cm long. The SW version adds a second upper trunk with a volume of 54 liters (!!) which also functions as a comfortable backrest for a complex. The two storage compartments lock and unlock from the motorcycle's remote control - proximity key, keyless start. Beyond usability, the GT version offers sporty design elements such as a bare motorcycle handlebar, a short blackened windshield, and more, while the SW version offers a more luxurious look, including a large windshield , raised bayonet and more.

And a little anecdote to finish, the Metropolis is the first model that carries the new logo of the company that will soon also appear on the car models and starting with the new 308 the

price for the GT version will be NIS 53,900 and the SW version will cost NIS 54,900.
