Last weekend, many videos and screenshots allegedly taken from Grand Theft Auto 6 were leaked online. It's no secret that the game is in development, but so far the Rockstar company, which stands behind the title, has avoided revealing even a single pixel of it.
Although the unprecedented leak looked real and presented quite a bit of the game's impressive open world, as well as the battle mechanism and a first look at the heroes (and heroines), Rockstar kept a wireless silence and did not respond to the leak - until yesterday.
In a long message published on Monday afternoon, Rockstar confirmed that it was indeed GTA 6, and even admitted that the company's servers were hacked over the weekend.
"We recently faced an intrusion into our computer network," the statement said.
"An unauthorized party hacked into our systems and downloaded confidential material from them, including video footage from early development stages of the new Grand Theft Auto.

"We are very disappointed that details about our next game were revealed in this way, but work on the game will continue as a series. We will remain committed as ever to providing you, our players, with an experience that will exceed all your expectations. We will update you soon and present the game to you properly, when it is ready" .
It was also reported that Rockstar is cooperating with the FBI to find out the identity of the hackers.
It is not impossible that this is the Lapsus hacker group, which apparently also broke into Microsoft's servers earlier this year, of the graphics card manufacturer Nvidia and of the Uber transportation service.
And what about the game itself?
It should be noted that Rockstar tries to remove the leaked videos from YouTube as quickly as possible, but the last time we typed GTA 6 in the site's search bar, we easily located several videos that were uploaded a few hours ago.
In other words, those who seek will find.
Also, it is now possible to state with certainty that the plot of the game will take place in Vice City, the equivalent of the GTA world to Miami;
that the dialogue system is based on that of Red Dead Redemption 2 (another Rockstar hit), and that for the first time in the series a female protagonist will star in the game.
GTA 6 is expected to reach consoles and PC at the earliest at the end of 2024 - more than a decade (!) after the launch of the previous chapter in the beloved action-adventure game series.

Particularly disappointing news for owners of PSVR, Sony's virtual reality system: all the games released for it will
not
work on the PSVR 2, the next-generation system that will be released in early 2023 and will interface with the PlayStation 5. Sony announced that the reason for the incompatibility is the fact that the new and advanced system "is designed to provide an experience Next-gen virtual reality," so the old titles just won't work on it.
There is no doubt that this explanation raises questions, since PlayStation 4 games (its console was designated the original PSVR system) work smoothly on the PlayStation 5, but it seems to be a fait accompli.

Now it's time to add Orlando Bloom to the cast, beating Legolas from The Lord of the Rings (and also Katy Perry's partner, if you will), who joined the cast and played a slick marketing man from the world of motor sports.
The film, whose filming starts this very week, will be released in August 2023.
