Margi performs "Sucks to know you (FU)" in a live concert at Walla Studio!, August 21, 2022 (lyrics and music: Yonatan Margi, Yuval Mein, Itai Shimoni, Jordan Pelag and Eitan Pelag; production: Shay Verker, Hagit Barak and May Steinfeld; director : Nitai Barry; Sound: Ilan Levy; Lighting: Yossi Adiges)

At the beginning of the month, Margie launched the EP.

His first in English, "Dark side of the Rainbow".

With the short album, which includes five songs in total, Margie joined other Israeli pop stars who tried to break out abroad such as Static and Ben El and Noa Kirel, and in the meantime it seems that he is catching the eyes of leading media and critics in the United States. At this point, the compliments have not yet translated into success Significant in the various parades, but they inspire hope: is the big breakthrough on the way?

Jonathan Margi, only 22 years old and the son of singer Mittal Trevalsi, broke into our lives already five years ago when he participated in the program "The Next Eurovision Star" and reached the finals - where he lost to Neta Barzilai, who later also won the international music competition.

Since then he has released two mini-albums in Hebrew, "What will be" and "Not to be alone" - that we are here in Vala!

We chose his theme song as one of the songs that made our year.

Apart from these, several singles were also released independently, including "This Couple" and "Ambulance" which he performed together with the pop star Noa Kirel, while the two had a well-publicized relationship, which has since ended.

In recent months, he has also been trying to launch an international career after signing about two and a half years ago with the "Saban Music Group" company, owned by the American-Israeli entertainment tycoon Haim Saban - a company through which Static and Ben El also tried to break out abroad. The first swallow from the project arrived last summer, with the single "Sucks to Know You (FU)", and less than two weeks ago the full mini-album also arrived - and the reactions are encouraging.

Both the "Billboard" website and "Rolling Stone" included "Paradise", the third single from the EP.

The new one, for the new song lists you need to know.

Billboard reporter Joe Lynch, who previously also praised the single "Sucks to Know You (FU)", wrote this time that the new song is "a wounded and touching reflection on a breakup in the middle of a relationship that you are not close to getting over, but with the silky voice missing His effort, in the end, is an uplifting song of praise for the ability to recover."

Margie also told Rolling Stone about each of the EP's songs.

The new one and the story behind it.

"[The story] was always about finding myself, more than just telling about my relationships with any person or my relationship with the media, or my relationships with all kinds of third parties," he told Brittany Spanos, the magazine's reporter.

For her part, she praised the Israeli singer.

"Israeli pop star Margie is getting ready to conquer the world," wrote the journalist of the music magazine, Brittany Spanos, who spoke with him and praised the songwriting "preparation and harm".

Margi signed the lyrics to the songs on the album, alongside other creators including Nega Erez and Uri Russo - other Israeli stars who made it in America - as well as Yishai Suisa, Jordan "Jordi" Peleg and others.

Scotto said the song was "beautiful" and congratulated the Israeli singer on his American television debut.

She mentioned that Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga also appeared on her show at the beginning of their career, and wished him success: "I think you have it Margie. You have the support of 'Good Day New York'."

Later, he also came to be a guest on MTV's "Fresh Out Live" program, presented by Jamila Mustafa, and was asked about the differences between his career in Israel and his international career, the musical influences, the stories behind the songs and the next steps in his career.

Mustafa told him that the album was "amazing", and described Margi as a rising star.
