She had given the alert in the media, here she is today prosecuted by justice.
Laurence Brunet-Jambu is summoned before the criminal court of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) on November 29, for having alerted the media about the physical and sexual violence suffered by her niece Karine, whom she subsequently adopted.
The case caused a stir in 2018, when the Ille-et-Vilaine Assize Court sentenced a man, a friend of the victim's family, to thirty years' imprisonment, found guilty of numerous rapes at the regard to Karine, committed under the family roof, between the ages of 5 and 7.
The parents of the little girl had also been convicted of witness tampering.

The end of a long fight on the part of Laurence Brunet-Jambu to protect his niece.
Since her birth, she had multiplied reports to social services to alert on the situation of the girl: her mother had already been convicted of infanticide, found guilty of having killed her first daughter with more than 130 stab wounds.
Social services had however opted for a "home support" of Karine, never questioned.
Elements communicated before the trial
Without a response to her reports, Karine's aunt had finally chosen to transmit to the media elements of the file to alert on the situation.
“We wonder about the timing.
She was summoned by the gendarmerie two years ago, for these facts, ”underlines in Ouest-France Grégory Thuan, lawyer for the defendant.
The Rennes public prosecutor's office accuses him in particular of having communicated elements to the press before the start of the trial, even though the Advocate General had apologized to Laurence Brunet-Jambu during the trial: "I think that justice has lacked foresight.
We have questions to ask ourselves, at the level of our professional responsibility, ”he said at the time, recalls the daily.
This lack of action on the part of the State had led to a vitriolic report by the Defender of Rights in 2019, which concluded that "social workers, justice, police and gendarmes failed in the management of the case of this girl " .
Attacked in court by Laurence and Karine, the State had been found guilty of gross negligence with regard to the girl, a first in France on the subject.
