Alec Baldwin's fatal shot: the shocking images of the reenactment

“This tragedy happened because live ammunition was delivered to the set and loaded into the gun, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed did not check the gun carefully but still announced it was safe before passing it to Alec Baldwin, ”details the complaint filed in a Los Angeles court.

The actor also accuses the chief prop master of not revealing that the gunsmith had "irresponsible behavior outside the set and represented a risk".

Alec Baldwin had however affirmed in August that he expected that the investigators validate the thesis of “the accident”.

He said at the time that he expected "no charges".

"Someone put a real bullet in the gun," he nevertheless said, while ensuring that he did not want to "condemn" the gunsmith.

Everyone takes the blame

Alec Baldwin's complaint adds to the many proceedings already underway in this case, with everyone blaming each other.

The script, Mamie Mitchell, has filed lawsuits against a multitude of members of the film crew, including the actor, whom she accuses of not having respected the security procedures.

In particular, she claims to have suffered significant emotional distress, standing next to Alec Baldwin when the shot went off.

Also sued by the victim's family, who accused him of "dangerous behavior", the actor had reached an agreement with them in October, the amount of which was not disclosed.

In the event of validation by a judge, he will put an end to the civil legal proceedings initiated against him.

The complaint of the relatives also denounced the savings measures decided by the producers of the film, of which Alec Baldwin is a part, having according to them led to the death of the filmmaker.

The gunsmith meanwhile filed a complaint against the film's ammunition supplier, accusing him of having left live ammunition in the middle of the blank ammunition cartridges.

An investigation remains ongoing in New Mexico and could lead to possible criminal charges.

The production of the film should meanwhile resume in January 2023.
