The rising wave of anti-Semitism in the world does not miss the field of gaming either.
Recently, an alarming increase in anti-Semitic and even Nazi propaganda can be observed in "The Sims 4" - the successful life simulator of the Electronic Arts company, the newest title in one of the most successful and beloved game series of all time, which is intended for the whole family.
The problematic contents include, among other things, Sims characters designed by the game's users as Adolf Hitler, as a "disgusting Jew", as a "greedy guy" - in the latter cases they are men with an appearance that includes anti-Semitic symbols such as large ears and noses, a beard, a wool hat that may resemble For a cap and clothes reminiscent of concentration camp uniforms.

It was pointed out that the Electronic Arts company, the marketer of the title (and the largest game distributor in the world, which is also responsible for the FIFA games), did not create the characters themselves, but gave the gamers the graphic tools to create and share them in the official "galleries" of The Sims - that is, on the game servers, and thus Allowing other players to download these horrific creations and incorporate them into their Sims games Indeed, Hitler and the Jews characters have been downloaded thousands of times from the servers by users who saw fit to do so.

The encouraging news is that Electronic Arts did not sit idly by, and realized the magnitude of the failure.
In recent days, the company hastened to release a critical update file for "Sims 4", which should combat the uploading of "inappropriate content" to the game's servers.
For example, the requested update may prevent players from using the words "Hitler" and "Jews" in the description of their creations.

In addition to this, the company published a message with the following language: "We are aware of several cases of unacceptable content being uploaded to the 'Sims 4' gallery. Our team has reviewed and updated the Profanity filter to prevent the recurrence of such cases in the future. We thank the game community for helping For us to locate these uploads, so that we can maintain a safe and creative gaming environment for our players."
Electronic Arts even promised to block the users who uploaded the anti-Semitic content, but they can, of course, simply create a new user and continue their actions.
Only a few days will tell if the new update will indeed prevent phenomena in these types of angles from recurring.
We contacted the Electronic Arts company to request its response to the matter, but no response was received until the publication of the article.
