An investigation was opened for murder after the discovery of the lifeless body of a 19-year-old young woman in Coubon (Haute-Loire), the Puy-en-Velay prosecutor's office said on Wednesday.
"An investigation is underway for murder," said the public prosecutor of Puy-en-Velay, Cathy Pajon, confirming information from the local news website zoomdici.
An autopsy is due to be performed on Thursday
The lifeless body of this young woman was discovered Tuesday afternoon in a dwelling in this town of 3,000 inhabitants located on the banks of the Loire, near Puy-en-Velay.
An autopsy must be carried out Thursday at the forensic institute of Saint-Étienne, said the prosecutor, without giving more details.
The circumstances of the death are not known.
At this stage, the judicial authorities have not indicated whether one or more suspects have been brought to light.
Seals were affixed by the investigators to the door of the accommodation where the young woman was discovered, reports Le Progrès.
