Designed to be different from all the others and to pave the way for a new species.

The New Peugeot 408 was in fact conceived to be unexpected and take the Lion brand towards a new path, between a silhouette that refers to fastbacks, engineering efficiency and intelligent electrification.

Sharp lines, a grille in the body color to integrate with the front and the new Peugeot emblem, with the lion's head in profile, are the elements that distinguish the new arrival at first glance, together with the rear bumper, with an inverted and innovative cut.

The 408 rests on large 720 mm diameter wheels, in turn mounted on special 20-inch rims that feature a geometric design, which is also useful for the car's general aerodynamics.

On the interior front, Peugeot has come up with a formula that makes spaces welcoming and modern.

With a length of 4.69m and a wheelbase of 2.79m, the new 408 features a spacious second row of seats, with knee room of 188mm.

The boot is also generous in size, with a volume of 536 liters which, with the rear seat backrests folded down, can reach 1,611 litres.

Behind the wheel, you are faced with the latest generation Peugeot i-Cockpit, recognizable by its compact steering wheel.

The quality of the interior space goes hand in hand with connectivity coupled with the latest technologies.

The range of Peugeot 408 engines includes two plug-in hybrid versions of 180 and 225 HP and a 130 HP PureTech petrol version.

All three are mated as standard to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The fully electric version will instead be presented in a few months.

Efficiency was at the center of attention of the Peugeot 408 designers, since the combination of efforts in terms of aerodynamics, weight reduction (mass starting from 1,396 kg) and low-emission engines mean that the vehicle can boast a low average fuel consumption (approval pending) for both the hybrid versions and the 130 HP PureTech petrol version.

On the market, the latest generation Peugeot 408 will debut at the beginning of 2023.
