New York local radio station 1010WINS reported that a 27-year-old man, who purchased 300 iPhones at the Apple Store on Fifth Avenue on Monday, was robbed shortly afterward.
The man, whose name has not been disclosed, was carrying 300 iPhone 13 devices in three bags, and was walking to his car around a quarter to two in the morning (for those wondering how he purchased iPhones in the middle of the night - Apple's flagship store in New York is open 24 hours...), when two men jumped on him and demanded that he hand over the bags to them.
The victim, who did not want to give up the 300 iPhones he had purchased, confronted them physically and was punched in the face by one of the robbers, who managed to grab one of the bags and run away.
The bag contained 125 iPhones, with a total value of $95,000.
According to the police, the man purchased the commercial quantity of iPhones from the store to sell them at his business, although it is not clear why he chose to make such an important transaction at such a late hour of the night...

Apple's flagship store on Fifth Avenue, known for the large glass cube above it and itself a tourist attraction, is open 24 hours a day.
Of course, at that time the store was still having a Black Friday sale (which lasts until Monday, also known as Cyber Monday), something the robbers were probably aware of.
The New York Police Department is investigating the case.
