Opel has to recall over 6,000 Corsa-e in Germany.
The curious reason: The electric car has problems with the exhaust gas measurement.
The fact that a manufacturer has to recall a model because of a problem is nothing new in itself.
But sometimes there are cases that leave drivers puzzled.
Tesla recently had to give hundreds of thousands of cars a software update due to a problem with the taillights.
Even more curious is a recall from Opel: The electric Corsa-e has to go back to the workshop because of an emissions test.
Sounds strange, but it is actually the case, as an entry in the recall database of the Federal Motor Transport Authority shows.
Because: Even with electric cars, the authorities must be able to carry out a roller test bench measurement at any time in accordance with the legal requirements.
This also applies to the electric Opel Corsa.

No joke: Opel is recalling e-cars for emissions testing
Due to a software error, "the test bench measurement to prove compliance with the emissions regulations" was not possible with the all-electric Corsa-e, as an Opel spokesman explained when asked by 24auto.de.
The recall affects 6,442 vehicles in Germany that were built between October 2019 and May 2022.

Opel is recalling a total of 16,605 electric cars worldwide.
“We have already started contacting customers to update the software on affected vehicles.
The visit to the workshop at the authorized Opel Service Partner is free of charge for the customer and takes around 45 minutes,” emphasizes the Opel spokesman.

No joke: Opel recall reaped ridicule in social media
With a price of less than 35,000 euros, the Corsa-e is also ideal for switching from a combustion engine to an electric car.
The range of 350 kilometers is also impressive in the small car class.
In the social media, however, there was above all ridicule for the strange-looking recall from Opel:
