tuscan copra (copra)
Cupra Tuscan will be the first car from the Volkswagen Group to be manufactured in China and exported from there to Europe and Israel.
Reports in the European media, not denied by Seat, reveal that the new Cupra electric crossover, a sportier and more dramatic version in its design of the Volkswagen ID.5, the Audi Q4 Sportback and the Skoda Aniac Coupe, will be produced exclusively in a new factory that the Germans are establishing together with JAC in Anhui Province in eastern China, with an investment of 6 billion euros.

306 hp from two engines
The Tuscan has the same 82 kW battery familiar from the Volkswagen Co. versions, with 77 kW actual volume, a pair of 306 hp engines, and acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.
Volkswagen is currently investing $7 billion in building an electric vehicle production line in Spain that will be used by Seat and Copra, but it won't be ready until 2026.
The Chinese factory will start producing the Tuscan for the local market in the second half of 2023, and after a few months of quality and reliability testing, will start exporting it to Europe in 2024.

Who else manufactures in China?
In doing so, Volkswagen follows a long line of foreign manufacturers that export new cars from China to Europe, mainly electric ones.
The list includes Tesla (Model 3), BMW (iX3), Volvo (Polstar 2, Volvo S90) and Dacia (Spring).
