How do you compile the year lists in the search?

Google compiles the lists by examining the billions of queries we receive each year.

The test uses an algorithm that compares the percentage increase in searches for a specific term over a specified period of time.

In addition to the annual summary that illuminates the prominent trends of 2022, there are several other tools that provide insights into the search in the past and present, in the world and here with us.

We emphasize that these tools cannot be used to identify individual users because they rely on an anonymous and cumulative count of the number of times a certain query was asked over time.

These tools are available all year round and you can play with them, explore and learn from them (click here).
