At the beginning of January, Tesla Israel will finally start delivering the first Model S and Model X models.
The S is the saloon car and the X is the crossover of the American electric car manufacturer and both were opened for sale in Israel at the launch in February 2021. However, due to delays in all markets due to a variety of reasons including the launch of the facelift of the model, component supply problems that hit the entire automotive industry following the Corona and the global trade crisis - the first cars will be delivered to customers in Israel only at the beginning of next year.
But the customers who waited almost two years for the new tram will find that it was worth the wait.
The payment instructions sent to the orderers in the last few days reveal that Tesla Israel decided not to charge the original orderers the full current price, which has increased by more than NIS 200,000, but the price set at the time of ordering.
In other words, the manufacturer itself absorbs the increase in the price of the model.

The only exception: those ordering will be charged the cost of the current taxes, the amount of which has increased since the launch due to the increase in prices, and will jump again in January following the doubling of the purchase tax on electric vehicles, from 10 to 20 percent, and the reduction of the maximum tax discount from NIS 75 to 60 thousand.
Tesla Model S Blade, with 1,020 hp and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.1 seconds, which was launched at a price of 625 thousand shekels, now costs 825 thousand shekels.
The equivalent Model X, with the same engine and 2.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h, was launched at the same price, but today costs NIS 849,000 before additions.
Unlike the car importers, Tesla specifies in each model what part of the taxes are in the price. In the Model S This is a total of NIS 330,000, of which NIS 117,000 is VAT, and the rest is purchase tax.
The X is NIS 343,000 in total, of which NIS 123,000 is VAT. With the doubling of the purchase tax, both cars are expected to become more expensive in January by about NIS 200-220,000. Customers will be required to pay the additional tax,

However, we very much doubt whether the old car importers will adopt this way of conduct by Tesla, that in regards to the commitment between it and the customer, we will "raise" the requested price despite the higher prices that the car has suffered - a conduct that may seem like very unwise business, but is certainly worthy of praise from the consumer point of view.
By the way, we would be satisfied if the other importers did the same by showing the tax component in the price of the car - when there is nothing to hide, then there is no problem showing.
