Three years have passed since the launch of the first generation of AirPods Pro • The 2022 version of Apple's popular headphones manages to surprise with the upgrades it offers thanks to the new processor

It's been three years since Apple launched the first generation of AirPods Pro, it's been three years that Apple has continued to strengthen the category of wireless headphones.

According to estimates by IDC and Bloomberg Intelligence, in 2021 alone, Apple sold 120 million pairs of its various AirPods models (according to a Bloomberg Businessweek publication).

Apple led the world's headphone market sales in 2021, when its market share was 25.6%, compared to Xiaomi with 9% and Samsung with 7.2% (according to Counterpoint data) The AirPods Pro model (second generation) that was recently launched alongside the iPhone 14 is expected help Apple continue to maintain its dominance.

Design and control: AirPods Pro - a simple connection from the iPhone through the MacBook to the Apple TV

The AirPods Pro come in a similar design to the previous generation and there is nothing wrong with that, because they are comfortable to use and sit well in the ears.

The company's well-known stem structure also combines different silicone adapters, and this time there is also a smaller silicone adapter size - extra small, as well as small, medium and large.

The headphones are resistant to moisture and sweat according to the IPX4 standard, so there is no problem playing sports with them.

The many capabilities of the headphones are controlled using sensors integrated on the long part of the headphones.

This time Apple added a touch pad, which allows you to control the volume by sliding up/down, alongside a long press on each of the headphones to switch between Active Noise Filtering (ANC), Transparency (Transparency) or Siri activation.

Beyond that, a double click to skip a song forward, a triple click to skip a song back and a single touch to stop/play a song.

Removing/inserting the headphones from the ears will also perform the same actions automatically.

There is no need to download an app for the AirPods, as all the options pop up in the settings menu of the iPhone/iPad as soon as you connect them.

The Find My technology known from the keychains - AirTag allows you to find the carrying case when you lost it somewhere and there is also the option to play a sound from each of the headphones, when you lose them at home.

The carrying case also includes a speaker that can play a sound when you want to find it or give an indication of pairing status or a low battery.

Besides all these capabilities, the AirPods Pro connect straight out of the box to the iPhone and they know how to switch quickly and without problems between the various Apple devices, whether it's the iPad, MacBook or Apple TV.

Sound and calls: AirPods Pro - excellent sound and spatial audio experience

The processor in this model has been upgraded to the H2 model, when it includes a new driver to correct audio distortion in the low tones.

The new processor does an excellent job and manages to provide clear sound with detail, depth and noticeable bass.

This is a sound that places these headphones in the first row against the other manufacturers in the premium category.

In the new generation of AirPods Pro, Apple emphasizes its spatial audio feature (Spatial Audio), which allows iPhone users with a TrueDepth camera and the iOS16 operating system to photograph their ears in order to create a personal profile for this feature (depending on the size and shape of the user's head and ears).

In order to listen to songs in spatial audio, I used the streaming service Apple Music and the feeling is more detailed, when you feel that the sounds also come from the front and not only from the sides.

Apple has managed to integrate into AirPods Pro active noise filtering from the best on the market, when it does it thanks to its H2 processor and optimization of the acoustic openings and microphones.

As soon as you activate this option, the background noise disappears or is significantly reduced.

The transparency mode is probably the best I've come across from this type of headphones, which allowed me to almost not feel the headphones in my ears and talk to people freely.

This is a much higher level than headphones from competing manufacturers.

There is also a mode here - Adaptive Transparency which dynamically reduces noise from the environment.

Also in terms of the quality of phone calls, the AirPods Pro do not fail and they simply heard me well, even when I was on the street.

Battery: AirPods Pro – wireless charging

AirPods Pro have 6 hours of listening to music and with the carrying case you get a total of 30 hours.

Charging the case is possible by connecting a Lightning cable or wireless charging (MagSafe or Qi) and also by using Apple Watch chargers.

Bottom line, it was worth waiting for the second generation AirPods Pro version 2022. The new processor pulsating inside these headphones allows them to provide very successful sound, noise filtering technology that allows you to disconnect from the environment, alongside a transparency mode that does not require you to remove the headphones from your ears when talking to people, and quality Very good microphones for phone calls.
