NASA's Juno probe is recovering its memory after its on-board computer went haywire following the 47th flyby of Jupiter on December 14th.

The accident, probably due to a radiation peak produced by the planet's magnetic field, caused the interruption of the sending of scientific data to Earth.

The computer was then restarted and data transmission resumed, but as a precaution the probe will remain frozen in safe mode until next week.

NASA communicates it in an update note on the mission.

From the first analyzes it does not appear that the data collected during the flyby of Jupiter and its moon Io have been damaged: the confirmation will arrive next week when the transfer of information to Earth will be completed.

The next Jupiter flyby is scheduled for January 22, 2023.
