Toll fees in Austria: Not only the "Pickerl" will cost more in 2023

In Austria, the "Pickerl" has been more expensive since January 1, 2023 - but the tolls on special routes have also risen.

Not only have the costs for the “Pickerl” in Austria increased – from now on, drivers also have to pay more for driving on special routes.

The ADAC announced that the special toll for a single journey on the Brenner motorway was increased by 50 cents to 11 euros on January 1st.

Driving on the Tauernautobahn including the Katschberg tunnel (EUR 13.50), the Gleinalm (EUR 10.50), the Bosruck tunnel (EUR 6.50) and the Arlberg tunnel (EUR 11.50). euros) more expensive.

For the use of the Karawankenautobahn southbound, 7.80 euros (plus 20 cents) are now due.

The prices apply to vehicles with a permissible total weight of up to 3.5 tons.

The Austrian 2023 annual vignette costs EUR 96.40 for cars (up EUR 2.60 compared to the previous year), for two months EUR 29 (up 80 cents) and for the 10-day sticker EUR 9.90 (up 30 cents).

Motorcyclists pay 38.20 euros (plus 1 euro) for the annual vignette, 14.50 euros (plus 40 cents) for the two-month vignette and 5.80 euros (plus 20 cents) for the 10-day vignette.

As the ADAC reports, the annual car vignette will cost 96.40 euros in 2023 – that is 2.60 euros more than before.

The two-month "Pickerl" costs 29 euros, an increase of 80 cents.

And the 10-day vignette will cost EUR 9.90 (plus 30 cents) from 2023.

According to the automobile club, the increases are 100 percent higher than in the previous year (2021 to 2022).

After all, the annual vignette for Switzerland still costs 40 francs (equivalent to around 41 euros, as of the end of November 2022).

And there are no price increases in Slovenia either: the annual car vignette costs 110 euros there, the monthly vignette 30 euros and the 7-day vignette 15 euros.
