Each day that passes adds to the anxiety, but Benoît Petit refuses to give in to despair.

“We are all on the lookout for the slightest piece of information,” confides this father of a family faced with one of the worst trials for a parent: the runaway and silence of a child.

This dad settled in Oise has had no news of his daughter Amélie, 14, since she fled the home of her maternal grandparents on December 19 in Gennes-Val de Loire, a locality located 30 km to the south. -east of Angers (Maine-et-Loire).

“It was my mother-in-law in panic who warned me the same day”, relates the father of the young teenager.

The grandmother found a letter left on Amélie's bed.

This message, "written by my daughter", confirms Benoît Petit, announces without ambiguity that the young girl has decided to leave the pavilion of her maternal grandparents with whom she has been living since last August.

"If you find

it (this word)

it means that I am already far away", writes Amélie, who then justifies her voluntary departure in a way that can only leave people perplexed: "I am leaving to look after the children of a family in another country.

I am going to do distance learning and intend to succeed in my life.

I will surely come back to see you after the holidays.

“The last sentence, which is intended to be reassuring, has never appeased the deep concern of those close to Amélie.

Except for a phone call on December 22 to her grandmother, the minor gave no sign of life.

“You can't think of anything else, it's driving you crazy.

“We are super worried.

We can see everything that can happen.

A young person quickly gets bamboozled, she can come across an ill-intentioned person, there are networks…”, confide Amélie's father and his new partner.

The mother of the young missing, who lives in the Pyrénées-Orientales, shares the same torments.

“It's total anguish, you wonder every moment where she is, who she is with, if she is safe.

You can't think of anything else.

It's going crazy, "said Ouest-France, on January 6, the mother of Amélie who then joined Maine-et-Loire in order to be as close as possible to the research.

Unsuccessful so far.

Despite a call for witnesses, relayed on the Facebook of the Maine et Loire gendarmerie and on the site of the 116,000 Disappeared Children scheme, and all the initiatives of her family, Amélie remains untraceable.

And silent.

Leaving the home of her maternal grandparents, Amélie, who took "a few belongings, her toothbrush and a telephone but without a SIM card", according to her father, did not seem to leave any clues allowing her to guess where she fled.

“Without ID,” says Benoît, who is betting on the hope that someone will come across his daughter and report to the gendarmes.

“Amelie is very mature, she looks older than her age, especially when she wears makeup,” describes her father.

“She is reserved from the start, but so is her character.

She is a little suspicious, which is why we are hallucinating that she could have left like that, ”adds Benoît's companion.

A runaway that necessarily has an explanation.

Relatives contacted by malicious people

"The teenage crisis", slips the father of Amélie when the existence of a malaise is mentioned by her mother.

“She was really not well.

She had panic attacks.

She has already met a psychologist, ”she told Ouest-France.

Her parents separated, Amélie lived with her father but wished during the last summer holidays to stay with her maternal grandparents.

Over the days, the runaway of this minor has become a worrying disappearance.

His last call to his grandmother dates back to December 22.

It will be a month this Sunday.

An eternity for his loved ones.

"We constantly watch all the social networks, but Amélie is invisible", says her father again, faced with this cruel expectation but also with calls from uninteresting or even malicious people.

“Amelie's older sister was contacted by a medium, she did not respond.

This week, someone tried to extort money from him.

There are people who ask us if Amélie has been found.

We answer them

Why, do you have information?

», Reports Benoît who formulates only one wish.

“Amélie has a little brother, born just four months ago.

My girlfriend and I sent her pictures.

We would like her to really know him.

“If this wish were granted, it would mean that the young missing has finally been found.

And that the anguish of his loved ones has vanished.
