The communication company Partner announced this morning (Wednesday) that it has signed a deal with the global company Ericsson, according to which it will establish for the first time in Israel the cloud-based 5G Standalone network - which is the next step in the 5th generation networks in the world.

The new technology will enable over 3 million partner customers to make optimal and maximum use of the 5th generation features, including: ultra-speed, low latency and response times, smooth media flow, stability, reliability and security.

With the signing of the deal, Partner joins a few international companies that have announced a similar move in the world, including T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone and other communication giants.

As is customary in the global cellular market and as a natural evolution, the 5th generation networks are based in the first stage on the 4th generation core, with the second and complementary stage being the establishment of a network based on an independent 'Standalone' core.

The establishment of the network will take about a year and a half with an investment of tens of millions of shekels, while the cooperation between Partner and Ericsson will last for 5 years.

Also, the new network will make it possible to strengthen in Israel global IoT trends such as autonomous cars, industrial robotics, remote medicine, gaming experience and more.

This, at the same time as realizing new business and commercial opportunities, by adapting the network to the nature of an organization and its tasks.

"We are proud to lead the 5th generation revolution in Israel and to be at the forefront of global innovation. We will continue to invest in quality infrastructure and excellent service in order to provide our customers with more value," said the CEO of the Partner Group.

CEO of Ericsson Israel, Alon Berman: "I am happy And proud that we have once again won the trust of a partner. Ericsson is bringing to Israel the world's leading G5 technology, an advanced cloud-based communication infrastructure that will enable an improvement in the customer experience and innovation in the implementation of a variety of new services."

At the same time, shortly after Partner's announcement, Pelephone also announced that it had agreed with Ericsson on the establishment of a 5G network core. "Ericsson is Pelephone's current supplier of the 4G core and is considered the global leader in the field. The new network core is based on cloud technology and will gradually serve as a unified core Both 4th and 5th generation," said Pelephone.
