Hundreds of children and adults arrived today (Friday) at the Cinematheque plaza in Tel Aviv to express a protest against Communications Minister Shlomo Karai's intention to damage the budgets of the Public Broadcasting Corporation and thus bring about an educational closure here.
Actor and YouTuber Kevin Rubin moderated the demonstration, many of the stars of the series "Educational Here" came to speak and express their sympathy with the protest.
In the words he delivered at the beginning of the demonstration, Kevin Rubin said: "As a child who grew up on educational series, as an actor in series and shows for children and youth, and this year for the first time also as a father, I understand the high importance of the struggle and call on everyone to take an active part in this very important protest. This is a major turning point that can change the face of Israeli culture."
The actress Neta Roth, who stars in several series in Kan Educational, called on the children and their parents not to rest for a moment and to make it clear to the members of the government that they are against the closure of Kan Educational.
In addition to Kevin Rubin and Neta Roth, the actress Lyrit Belvan, Roni Hadar, Shahar Tabuch, Bar Miniali, Yael Lishpitz, Noa Cohen and the creator Avner Bernheimer also spoke.

In the meantime, the CEO of the corporation, Golan Yokhpaz, today thanked the corporation's employees for their struggle, but announced: "For now, the struggle is over, but we are absolutely not paid.
The real threat to the continued existence of the corporation hangs in the air, and it may return quickly and in a much more aggressive manner.
The job of all of us is to continue to stand guard over public broadcasting, to continue making quality content for all the people of Israel.
