It was probably supposed to be fun - but a doll's head dangling from a bridge almost caused a serious accident in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Again and again, motorists perform driving maneuvers that no one can laugh about: such as an SUV driver who recently deliberately blocked an ambulance.
Then again there are actions that are not legal - but still somehow amusing: Like a driver in the USA who was traveling with an inflatable Grinch in order to be able to use the carpool lane.
Now strangers in North Rhine-Westphalia probably wanted to be funny - but their macabre joke almost led to a serious accident.
Doll's head dangles from the bridge - macabre fun almost causes a serious accident
As reported by the police, the perpetrators in Wermelskirchen roped down a doll's head from a pedestrian bridge.
This then dangled at a height of about two meters above the road leading through below.
A 43-year-old driver reportedly had to slam on the brakes to avoid colliding with the doll's head.
The driver behind him was only able to avoid a rear-end collision because he also got on his shoes.
According to the officials, there could have been a "traffic accident with serious consequences": The 43-year-old was in the car with four children.
Near-accident, due to doll's head hanging from the bridge - "Only sick people on the way"
The police arrived and finally secured two doll heads at the scene - and are now asking for clues that indicate the origin of the doll heads.
Witnesses who observed something should also report.
The police's Facebook post has since been commented on: "Only sick people on the way," someone wrote.
Another user says, "How brainless can some be?"

Doll's head dangles from the bridge - criminal charges for dangerous interference in road traffic
The strangers are now threatened with criminal charges because of a dangerous intervention in road traffic.
According to Section 315 b of the Criminal Code (StGB), perpetrators can be punished with a fine or even up to ten years in prison, depending on the severity of the offence.
Some time ago, when strangers simply painted a zebra crossing on the street, the police also investigated that fact.
