This is one of the intriguing models that will be presented this year, and until now it was only revealed as a shadowy teaser at the launch of its older brother, the Volvo EX90.
This is what can already be said about the Volvo EX30, the new electric crossover that is expected to become the manufacturer's best-selling model, in the world and in Israel.
Volvo was one of the first luxury manufacturers to launch plug-in models and later the electric XC40.
The Swedes, along with the owner of the house Geely, recognized already a decade ago the direction in which the industry is moving, they moved to focus on electrified vehicles and crossovers.
After producing about 615,000 vehicles in 2022, Volvo intends to double sales to 1.2 million units in 2026, and last year it even announced the construction of a new factory in Slovakia, the first it has built in 60 years.

Last year, the electric replacement of the old XC90, EX90, was already revealed, which will arrive in 2024.
But even before that, in the last quarter of 2023, its little brother will arrive, which will be made in China, like the S90 saloon car and Polestar models.
There are currently not many technical details about the EX30, but we can learn a lot from two crossover models that have already been revealed and are based on the same platform developed by the owner Geely, the Smart 01 and the Zikr X. The Smart is the first model that the Chinese are planning for the brand they bought from Mercedes, and the Zikr is the entry model that was revealed Just last week for their new luxury brand, in which the Israeli Mobileye also owns a stake and supplies it with advanced autonomous driving systems.
The Smart and the Ziker are not large cars and the Volvo is expected to be even shorter than them, around 4.25 meters, but with a wheelbase of 2.75 meters, more than the Volvo XC40, thanks to the flexibility of an all-electric platform.
You can expect about 270 hp in the rear-wheel drive version and about 420 hp in the dual-wheel drive version.
The 68 kWh battery should be enough for a range of 400 km.

When the price of an electric XC40 in Israel starts at NIS 280,000, the EX30 is expected to be tens of thousands of NIS cheaper, and put the Swedes in competition with more popular electric cars such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Skoda Aniac, a place where the other luxury manufacturers have yet to put a wheel.
This week Volvo announced that the new model will be revealed to the public on June 15 and then we will know more, in preparation for its arrival in Israel less than six months later.
