For many, the reality is still a choice between family and career.

A Canadian study, published in January in the scientific journal Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise (MSSE) could give food for thought to the various sports bodies and sponsors.

The researchers show that not only the athletes who wanted to return to competition after giving birth had regained their level of performance, but for more than half, had even performed better than before becoming a mother.
