Amid fears that ChatGPT will steal white-collar workers their jobs, the considerable advances in AI technology may also render famous porn stars irrelevant and unemployed.
AI-generated porn stars - computer creations that look, talk and message just like real people - are the new thing in the adult content industry - and they're threatening to come to a screen near you.
On the group messaging platform Discord, a community called Unstable Diffusion was formed last year to "train artificial intelligence to get better at producing porn," according to the Independent.
The newspaper reports that there are now fears that porn viewers will soon prefer the computerized creations over the real actors, given that the stars can be programmed to be perfect, or as the group put it: "having narrow waists and big breasts".
Once perfect characters who look like completely real people star in porn movies, there will no longer be a need for the "imperfect" person.
(And yes, the fact that it is a more moral solution that does not require human trafficking or sexual exploitation was not discussed there).

However, a number of kinky content creators say the hype surrounding AI porn is overblown — and they're not worried about the end of their careers.
"Anyone who thinks that AI-generated images of hot naked women are going to destroy the OnlyFans economy for real-life women probably has a fundamental misunderstanding of what OnlyFans is," OnlyFans star Laura Lux stated on Twitter late last month.
Lux says her subscribers prefer a personal connection that AI-generated "stars" can't provide. Many consumers also prefer imperfect content — as evidenced by the rise of amateur videos and the move away from produced videos. "People don't sign up for my

"'Boots belonging to a realistic AI-generated character will never be as interesting as boobs belonging to a girl I subscribe to on YouTube, no matter how 'perfect' or conventionally attractive the AI image is," Lux continued.

Fellow content creator Alex Sim-Wise believes the fear of AI-produced porn stars won't last long.
She says many porn stars already use elements of artificial intelligence to make themselves look different in their photos and videos.
"There's a whole subsection of creators who change their identity," she told the Independent.
"I think the creators of OnlyFans have already used this kind of technology without knowing it sometimes, with all the apps we use to edit our content. They're all artificial intelligence, basically, and they're becoming more and more artificial intelligence."
She added: "People will masturbate on anyone. They'll masturbate on the fortune teller, or they'll masturbate on their favorite butcher, someone they see every day. You can't control people's masturbation stuff."

Sexologist Ness Cooper added that artificial intelligence simply cannot reproduce the complexities and nuances of human sexuality.
"I highly doubt there will ever be one porn that rules them all, because that's not how our brains work when it comes to sexual fantasies and erotic images," said Cooper, "simply put, we're all different and enjoy different things."
