With cynical practices, simulated symmetry and of course Eldad Yaniv: Ila Hasson already feels at home here 11 - voila! culture

Time will tell if the corporation's bet justified itself, but at least according to its debut program - it is a stain on the channel's balanced news broadcasts. It is not certain that the viewers will last

again on public broadcasting.

Ila Hasson is an excellent journalist with an incredible record, which few active members of the media can boast of.

This is a fact that occasionally needs to be mentioned.

One does not forget how to be a journalist, just like one does not forget to ride a bicycle.

For a seasoned professional woman like Hason, it's like second nature.

On paper, Ila Hasson's move from Channel 13 to Channel 11 is a net gain for the public broadcasting corporation - which gains a renowned journalist, who also supposedly brings with her a new audience, which is not sure that they would have found Channel 11 on the remote until yesterday.

The entire previous paragraph was relevant in a reality where Ayla Hasson would not have decided to give up her professional prestige for the sake of total mobilization for the position.

Even though she had already received an excellent scoop on the alleged harassment of the chairman of the Bar Association, Avi Himi, who resigned from his position in light of her exposure - she had to drag her achievement through the Bibist mud with the same crazy comparison between Himi and the rape suspect in Gedra, under the title "The Face of Evil" .

I have read quite a few commentaries that explain that here 11's choice to land Ila Hasson at seven in the evening is a win-win for the channel.

In the best case, she will bring with her the regular viewers from the parallel strip on Channel 13, and boost the ratings at this problematic hour.

In the worst case, it will only serve as a fig leaf in front of a government that wants to bite into the public broadcasting budget.

Either way, the channel's loyal viewers will not betray him at this difficult time.

It's true, and maybe that's the whole problem with this story.

According to Hasson, the CEO of the corporation, Golan Yochpaz, approached her on her first day on the job and told her that she had to come. His decision was correct in a world dominated by ratings - except that he misses the whole beautiful story that has been built in recent years about the remains of the defunct Broadcasting Authority.

Here 11 is still a strange bird in the Israeli television landscape.

For some reason, it is still measured using an outdated rating method that does not consider the channel's strengths on digital platforms, instead of achievements.

The most prominent example is the World Cup, but compared to something that happens once every four years, just look at the number of views on YouTube of the educational television series such as "Home Alone" or "Caramel".

Series that do not scratch the rating percentage in the official tables - and you will understand that these are some of the most watched series in Israel.

Each episode has millions of views, much more than Keshet's most watched prime time shows.

The corporation knows this, and is proud of it, so why commit suicide on the Sheva Arab broadcast and burn all the reputation built in recent years?

A voice for everyone?

The panel transmits differently.

Time will tell if this gamble paid off (Hasson beat her former colleague, Raviv Drucker, who broadcast in the same slot on Network 13), but at least according to Hasson's debut program on Channel 11, it is a stain on the channel's balanced news broadcasts.

Although Hasson opened the broadcast with appropriate stateliness and said that she would make sure that everyone felt they had a voice in the program, but her panel - just like on Channel 13 - broadcast a particularly monotonous image.

The only debate between the panelists Gal Hirsch, David Forer, Efrat Shauma Hildesheimer and of course Eldad Yaniv (because how can you assemble a panel without Eldad Yaniv?) is about whether the legal reform should be passed today or yesterday.

If Hasson really wanted to give a voice to everyone, wouldn't it be right, perhaps, to also give a voice to the protestors instead of just making fun of them on air?

Keshet and Reshet repeatedly choose reality over reality.

This is not escapism, this is embezzlement

Channel 13 knows exactly the price of Hasson's popularity, and it seems that they are not in a hurry to cry over her passing.

Already in the first program, she brought to the new house the cynical practices she had included in recent years, with an article that compares the statements of Knesset member Zvika Vogel ("I want to see Hvara closed and burned") with statements of Dani Halutz, Ron Huldai and Ehud Olmert.

Hasson's "innocent" claim seems to have been created in the reality mixer of Fox News: why was an investigation opened only against Fogel, while Huldai (who, by the way, merely stated a historical fact that cannot really be argued with) was not called for a police investigation.

Eldad Yaniv, who testified to himself in the past that his conscience "is in the sock", of course stood at the head of the strict and called on the police to investigate everyone.

Still a democracy.

The fact that this is how Ayla Hasson's opening program looked is very worrying.

If Siftah was so engineered, what will the show look like after Hassan feels a little more at home on the channel?

Not sure how long the loyal viewers of here 11 will agree to swallow this frog, if at all.
