And while Meta promises that it's only a matter of time before it goes live, the feature for editing messages in WhatsApp
hasn't made it
to phones yet.
In fact, it seems that editing messages in WhatsApp or WhatsApp Web is
about to be released
, since one of the latest preliminary versions of the application already has this function fully installed.
The first step of the "edit messages" function will fall on
WhatsApp Desktop
, although at the moment, there is not much news about its final landing.

Edit messages on WhatsApp: a trick to get out of trouble

The feature does not work within the app, but can be activated from WhatsApp code using root or admin tools.
To access the editing of messages, you have to modify the WhatsApp configuration XML at three different points (flags): when sending edited messages, when receiving them, and when editing messages.

Here it works differently from Telegram, which allows you to edit any message regardless of its delivery date.
To access the edition you have to press and hold on the message to be edited, click on the three menu points and, finally, on Edit.
A text box will appear on which to write the desired message while the old one remains on the screen.
Once this message has been edited, it changes on the recipient's mobile and on the one who received the message (it also works in groups).
