Land Rover Defender 90 from Lego (Lego)
Lego is expanding its "icons" series, the one in which in recent years it has also collaborated with a long list of car manufacturers, from Ferrari to Ford, from McLaren to Mercedes trucks and also John Deere tractors to build models with the famous Lego sets.
Demonstrates a synergy of sales promotions and probably also makes quite a bit of money in these sponsorships.
Now it's Land Rover again and with the Defender 90 with full off-road equipment.
Only this time it's not about the sales promotion of the new one, but the classic one whose production was stopped in 2016. More precisely on Friday 29 January at 9:22 that's when the production line in Solihull rolled out the last piece which was the short 90's version of the Defender, almost like that of The Lego model you see here.
So if you missed the opportunity to buy one of the originals back in their production years, very soon you will be able to get your hands on an exemplar.

But if when you say "Lego" an image of a toy for children comes to your mind, this is not the case, with a width and height of 16 cm and a length of 32 cm it requires considerable building skills and is intended for ages 18 and over (although we don't think they will check your ID ...).
This green Defender 90 (a color that also has significance in Land Rover's history) consists of 2,336 parts and like similar kits in this series (such as the Porsche 911) can be built in one of two configurations - as a touring car version with full off-road equipment or a "series" model.
In the travel vehicle configuration, it features a pig guard in front, a working winch, a snorkel, a roof loaded with equipment, rescue plates, a hi-lift (working!), jerrycans and more.
There are even two engine versions to choose from, one is similar to the diesel and the other is the V8.

By the way Lego, Land Rover and Defender, in June 2019 a Lego agent published the kit of the new Defender three months before the presentation of the real model, which put Land Rover in a very awkward situation.
Who knows, maybe this new model is even part of Lego's compensation arrangement for the British-Indian SUV maker.
Either way, if what is needed to get such kits are crap - we're all for it!
We are also in favor of buying the two kits and putting them side by side, if you are in a hurry to order already, in Israel we found the existing kit of the new Defender at prices of 740 NIS, on Amazon for 220 dollars and I have a fake Express that looks very bad for 220 NIS.
For the classic 90 you will have to hold back just a little longer.
Official sales will begin on April 1st at LEGO online stores.
The price - 240 euros, as fire around July, estimates will also arrive in Land Rover showrooms and will be sold there alongside the real cars.
